The mens toilets were the first to fall and they were all but history come 4pm. 1st of May seen the ladies toilets vanish and the big banger was called in on the 2nd to tear up the foundations of both buildings. During the week commencing 5th May the laundry building dissapeared and as of today the 15th of May only the small room at the back of the laundry remains. Word is this will come down tomorrow. All going well the workers will be here on the 19th to commence laying out the site and commence preping for the slab of the new building. Photo's of varies stages below

As per the plan on the 15th the laundry vanished on the 16th of May. Diligent planning and execution on Don's part seen the saving of the parks switchboard, Don commissioned the construction and installation of what he calls a Titanium Shark Cage to protect the switchboard whilst the rest of the laundry building was taken down. Don's clever thought and forward planning has ensured the park still has electricity. Brett with his bobcat and tractor arrived first thing on the 19th along with 4 massive loads of sand to start the process of levelling the site out. The concreters also arrived early on the 19th to commence laying out the site in preperation for the concrete slab.

Today the 28th May the plumbers arrived to lay the under slab pipes for the new building.

Well it's Thursday the 29th of May & the plumbers returned today to finish off the under slab piping for the building. A quick glance across the site now reveals where things will be situated. Tomorrow marks the end of the first month of construction. We will all breath a massive sigh of relief once the slab is poured hopefully next week. In the planning and design phase of the project there were many unknowns around what and where services were located under the old building. We are confident that we have strategies in place for these things and now look forward to a smooth completion of the new building.

2/6/08 - Vince and the crew (concreters) returned today to start the trenching of the slab and preparing for the steel reo and plastic to be laid. Vince advises that the slab preparation works will be complete by Friday 5th June. Vince is expecting to pour the slab for the new building next Tuesday 9th after long weekend. today also seen the arrival of our temporary toilets for the back end of the park for the long weekend. According to our scheduling and forecasting we planned to maintain the temporary toilets on site until the new building is commission.

11/6/08 - We survived the long weekend. The concreters were back at work on Monday and commenced laying the steel mesh and plastic into the slab form. As of today the slab prep is complete and word is the pouring of the slab will occur tomorrow morning. A big thank you to everyone that came up over the long weekend for their patience, it is greatly appreciated.

13/06/08 - Tthe concrete pour commenced at 7am this morning and was well near ending at lunch time. 13 Truck loads each holding 5.4 cubic metres of concrete filed into the park like clock work, this represents approx 70 cubic metres of concrete which has been laid on approx 120 cubic metres of base sand!. Vince and his expert team shuffled the concrete around the site using a boom concrete pump.

27/6/08 - Finally the bricks are starting to go up

17/07/08 - As you can see by the latest installment of pictures the brick work is moving along . The brickies have installed some of the buildings new windows.

30/7/08 - Alot of the bricks are in place as are the windows.

9/8/08 - Well the olympics have kicked off and work on our project is continuing.

27/8/08 - As you can see by the latest photos the frame for the roof is finally on the building and about 90% of internal brick work is done. At some stage another brick skin will go right around the outside of the building. Work has been going slow but things are happening.

4/9/08 - As you can see in the latest three pics Phil Becker and his worker have got the roof on the building. The building finally has a roof!.

9/10/08 - The updates have been thin as has the work progress. We encountered many issues over the past weeks which have lead to a delay and an overrun of the deadline. Initially building was due to open end Sept 08 this has now been pushed out Further details on dates will be published once they become apparent. We finally have a real bricklayer onsite, a local named Eddie Mcleod. Eddie and his crew are doing a great job on the outerskin of the brickwork. They have made massive inroads in the 3 short days they have been onsite and there committment to quality really shows in there work. The plaster roof on inside of building is complete and the tilers are here now laying floor and soon wall tiles. The new washing machines and dryers are here and today we took delivery of our new toilets and laundry troughs. After all that another truck rocked up with the stove and fridge for the camp kitchen. Last Friday was a similar day with the hot water units and new gas bottle being delivered. The plumbers have installed the new septic tanks and the rainwater tanks are here waiting to be installed. The new grey water line has been installed which runs from the building east down to the pump pit. Progress has been slow and much has been going on behind the scenes. Hope you all enjoy the photo's and the update.

25/10 - As you can see I have put up heaps more photos of the project. The internal fitout is happening and things are taking shape on the outside. Watch this space for developments re opening of the building.
